We are happy to release SinaTools - Open Source Toolkit for Arabic NLP and NLU We are excited to release SinaTools - Open Source Toolkit for Arabic NLP and NLU, which consists of Python APIs, command lines, online demos, and many datasets - free for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. It outperforms all related tools in all tasks in speed and accuracy. The Department of Linguistics at Boston University seeks to hire an Assistant Professor specializing in Computational Linguistics as part of a cluster hiring initiative in AI led by the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS). The application will be handled centrally through CDS, and we encourage candidates interested in the Department of Linguistics to explicitly include the keyword "Linguistics" in their primary research interests in their AJO application. We will give full consideration to applications submitted by December 1, 2024, and will continue the review on a rolling basis until April 15, 2025. The candidate will hold a primary appointment in Linguistics, with a secondary appointment in or affiliation with CDS. We expect the candidate to conduct research and teach courses in Computational Linguistics and related areas at all levels, and advise undergraduate and graduate students. Assistant Professor of Computational Linguistics Rochester Institute of Technology Detailed Job Description The Department of Psychology and Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at the Rochester Institute of Technology jointly invite applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computational Linguistics, beginning in August 2025. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctoral degree (in hand by August 2025) in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field. Successful candidates should demonstrate computational expertise, strong research talent, and initiative in grant writing. Candidates should also have a plan for excellence in teaching and student mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants must be able to teach our courses in language technology, natural language processing, and/or speech processing. In addition, applicants should be able to teach foundational linguistics from a cross-linguistic perspective, as well as courses in one or more linguistics or cognitive science subfields. Proficiency in a language other than English is preferred, and we welcome research or teaching experience involving language learning. Call for Data: Unidive Shared Task on Morphosyntactic Parsing

Dear members, We invite you to contribute data for UniDive’s shared task on morpho-syntactic parsing, to be hosted as part of SyntaxFest 2025 (August, Ljubljana). Data for this task largely resembles dependency trees as in Universal Dependencies, but bypasses wordhood debates by adopting the distinction between content and function elements to fully characterize sentences. The systems participating in this task will be required to output relations between content nodes and ascribe them morpho-syntactic features. Data and systems in this data format will allow easier cross-lingual studies and natural treatment of many additional languages, especially of the agglutinative type. We are looking for data contributors and annotators for data in various languages for this task. Our current team includes annotation teams in about a dozen of languages and we would like to expand the number and variety of the languages included. The data is set to be released around *February 2025*, and it can be either data tagged from scratch or semi-automatically converted from existing treebanks. Initial or partial data is to be available already *by the end of 2024*. Researchers interested in joining are welcome to reply to one or all the organizers (omer.goldman(a)gmail.com, weissweiler(a)utexas.edu, reut.tsarfaty(a)gmail.com) to hear more details of the data structure, including annotation guidelines and English example. (apologies for cross-posting) Dear colleague, We seek submissions of long and short papers on original and unpublished work (same page limit as the COLING 2025 main conference). In addition, there will be three shared tasks. All accepted submissions will be presented as talks and/or posters at the workshop, prior to the COLING 2025 main conference. Research Papers We invite original research papers from a wide range of topics, including but not limited to: - Detection methods for text, image, speech and other modalities - Multilingual detection methods - Detection Methods Image Modality - Detection Methods Multimodal Content - Real-time detection systems: real-time systems for detecting AI-generated content in live scenarios. - Attacks for detection systems - Datasets and resources - Benchmarking for AI generated content detection - AI generated fake news detection - Deep Fakes in audio, videos and images - Ethical and legal implications of AI generated content Shared Tasks We plan to run three shared tasks: - Task 1: Binary Multilingual Machine-Generated Text Detection (Human vs. Machine) - Task 2: AI vs. Human – Academic Essay Authenticity Challenge - Task 3: Cross-domain Machine-Generated Text Detection Important dates: Regular Submission (including shared tasks) Deadline: November 15, 2024 (dual-submission allowed) Resubmission (with a rebuttal) Deadline: December 2, 2024 Acceptance Notification: December 7, 2024 Camera-Ready Deadline: December 13, 2024 Workshop Day: January 19-20, 2025 All deadlines are 11:59PM UTC-12:00 (“anywhere on Earth”). Submission Details: Papers must describe original, completed or in-progress, and unpublished work. All papers will be refereed through a double-blind peer review process by multiple reviewers with final acceptance decisions made by the workshop organizers. Accepted papers will be given up to 9 pages (for full papers), 5 pages (for short papers and posters) in the workshop proceedings, and will be presented as oral paper or poster. We are seeking submissions under the following categories: - Full/long papers (8 pages) - Short papers (work in progress, innovative ideas/proposals: 4 pages) - Shared task papers (4 pages) Long, short, and shared task papers must follow the two-column format of *ACL conferences, using the official templates. The templates can be downloaded in style files and formatting. Please do not modify these style files, nor should you use templates designed for other conferences. Submissions that do not conform to the required styles, including paper size, margin width, and font size restrictions, will be rejected without review. Verification to guarantee conformance to publication standards, we will be using the ACL pubcheck tool. The PDFs of camera-ready papers must be run through this tool prior to their final submission, and we recommend its use also at submission time. Submissions are open to all, and are to be submitted anonymously. For the anonymity, double-blind submission, and reproducibility criteria please follow the COLING 2025 instructions.
