Speaker's short bio: Massimo Poesio is a Professor in Computational Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London and a Professor of Natural Language Understanding at the University of Utrecht. His research interests include disagreements in language interpretation; anaphora resolution; the creation of semantically annotated corpora, in particular using games-with-a-purpose such as LingoTowns; the study of conceptual knowledge using a combination of methods from human language technology and neuroscience; semantic interpretation of verbal and non-verbal communication in interaction; and using NLP to combat deception, misinformation and offensive language online.
