Abstract: This talk will provide an overview of the architecture that underpins modern AI language models including n-gram language models, word embedding models, and modern transformer models. These models will be examined for alignment with theories of human language processing. The talk will also focus on how AI models recreate classical language processing pipelines associated with computational linguistics and language processing.
