[Apologies for cross-posting]
Dear Corpora list members,
We welcome submissions for the *2th edition of the workshop on **Advancing Natural Language Processing for Wikipedia* *(WikiNLP), co-located with ACL'25, in Vienna, Austria on 13th September 2024.*
The goal of this workshop is celebrating Wikimedia's contributions to the NLP community while exploring ways to sustain this relationship. Wikipedia, a multilingual, freely reusable, high-quality dataset, is invaluable to NLP research, yet challenges persist: language modeling remains skewed toward high-resource languages, generative text models pose risks to Wikipedia’s sustainability, and few researchers contribute tools that support Wikimedia's ecosystem.
With three tracks spanning provocations, datasets, and non-archival submissions, we invite studies on:
-
Wikimedia data’s impact in NLP -
NLP tools, features, and datasets that help maintain and expand Wikimedia projects - Policy design for governing NLP tool usage on Wikipedia - Practices in NLP research that could be beneficial or harmful to the Wikimedia community - ... and more!
*Important Dates*
- Paper submission deadline: 23 April 2025 - Accept/reject notification: 30 May 2025 - Camera-ready paper deadline: 23 June 2025 - Workshop: 31 July or 1 August 2025 (TBD)
All deadlines are midnight anywhere on earth (AOE). More details: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/NLP_for_Wikipedia_(ACL_2025)
