Ian van der Linde and I are recruiting for an ESRC-funded PhD studentship on ‘The role of gesture in spoken communication’. We are looking for people with
a background in computational linguistics/ NLP, psycholinguistics, or cognitive science, who ideally have experience of using large language corpora and/or data collection with human participants as well as programming skills in R, MATLAB, or Python. The
successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own project in consultation with us, in the general topic area of gesture and speech.
